  1. External GPS antenna. I used aluminum tape on the inside of the fuselage for a ground plane since my REMOS is carbon fiber
  2. The boat next to my airplane. Anybody want to buy it?
  3. I'll be there. Got both my COVID vacc's. Flying on SW airline from Spokane. Staying at MacDill AFB.
  4. I installed a Magnum BRS in my 2007 REMOS G3/600 in 2015. I need a new rocket and a parachute repack. Any suggested vendors?
  5. I checked out the ignition switch and it works properly. Did the heat gun in the B module and the engine started and ran OK. I will order new soft start modules. Thanks for all your help.
  6. Thanks for the input. I'm inclined to buy a couple of soft start modules and just replace the old ones.
  7. My 2007 REMOS G3/600 with a 912 ULS (~ 900 hrs) is getting hard to start. After starting. it runs rough for a couple of minutes and then it smooths out and picks up some rpm. That is because it starts on the Left Mag only (with the ignition switch on both mags). I know this because if I switch to the Right Mag on the ignition switch, the engine stops. After a couple of minutes of rough running, the Right Mag starts working and the engine runs fine. Is it time for new ignition modules? How do I diagnosis it? Any ideas? (I’m posting this on REMOS, CT flyer, SPT and ROTAX forums so no need to answer in all places)
  8. I If your CT is a SLSA, I recommend taking the 3 week LSRM-A class so you can do your own annuals and maintenance. I installed a G5 and love it. For ADSB I recommend the Garmin GDL 82 if your transponder is compatible.
  9. I use 91 octane no ethanol car gas. My Rotax loves it. Only problem is late spring when it starts getting warm out but before they change to summer blend I get vapor lock so I use 50% 91 octane and 50% 100 LL.
  10. I fly a REMOS G3/600. My code is "Golf 3". I always tell them that I'm a light sport and not the jet. Although it's fun to fly to the jet center in Spokane and have them roll out the red carpet.
  11. Could be the capacitor on the voltage regulator. Check for bulges or leaks on the capacitor. Capacitors are inexpensive on ebay.
  12. Two ground lines could allow circulating current around the ground wires. Not good practice. You should disconnect the origional ground and only have the trmporary one ground wire directly to the battery negative terminal.
  13. This works in my REMOS https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CSLTMS7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  14. REMOS G3 Al tape for a ground plane
  15. Yes. It happened after I filled up on 91 octane no ethanol gas. I had a normal run up. Full power take off. RPMs dropped to 4000 at 100 feet agl. The last inch of throttle travel had no effect. At first I thought it was sticking throttle cables so I replaced them. It was bad gas. Its an easy thing to try. Just drain your tanks (use the gas in your car) and fill up on 100 LL. Like I said, it happened twice to me each year in April from the same gas station. My engine had about 700 hours on it at the time.
  16. Happened to me twice to me. Both times in early spring. The first time I did much trouble shooting, cleaned the crabs, replaced the throttle cables, replaced the fuel line, cleaned the fuel distribution manifold. As a last resort I emptied the fuel tank (91 octane no ethanol auto fuel) and filled up on 100LL. Problem went away. The following year the same thing happened about the same time of year. I dumped the auto gas and put in 100LL. Problem went away. Possibly the problem was the local fuel distributor changing from winter to summer blend auto fuel?? Now I run on half 100LL and half 91 octane car gas all the time. No more problems.
  17. Flying from KRLD (central Washington State) to Hayward CA Saturday for the ROTAX Maintenance course and then to Page on Wednesday. Looks like great weather ahead. Ernie
