  1. Hi Rich, I have a similar problem ... let me know what you find out and I will do the same! ~~ Johnny
  2. Well, it's the holidays so I am guessing (hoping) that's the reason for the dirth of responses to my bird. Getting some action on Barnstormers, so I know that not everybody has gone full yuletide Asking price is negotiable. Tell your friends ~~ j ~~ 1686498C-1EAC-4CB3-BBEB-7FB3AE801A19.heic
  3. Hard to type the words, but the beloved shark is for sale. We are now on the road full time in the motorhome and this bad boy needs a new home. You can find more pics and details in the Barnstormers ad. Text/call Johnny 903.922.6900
  4. Got it done, Tip ... thanks again for the pics and your willingness to help ... I swear it's the best part about flying! Many thanks and Merry Christmas! ~~ Johnny
  5. Well, amigo, I got it done, thanks to you and my other aviation hero, Corey ... you guys truly are the bomb! Many, many THANKS and a very Merry Christmas to you! ~~ Johnny Haley Palestine, Tx, aka the holy land
  6. This time it worked! I remembered Roger saying to turn off the power in between programming steps. I cannot thank you enough Corey ... not sure how the fleet would manage without the likes of you and Roger. Would love to buy you a beer sometime ... call me next time you're in Texas! Many, many THANKS and Merry Christmas! ~~ j ~~ E8F8BD9E-41CC-43BB-BE3B-C6CCCB1A1DCA.heic
  7. I will try programming again and let you know ...
  8. Ok, it doesn't seem to be working ... how would you proceed from here?
  9. Hey Corey ... I have connected the 3 lead up/down switch and the 4 pin button switch. The display flashes in all positions. I can move the flaps to the desired position with the up/down switch, but when I press the 4 pin button to program it, the display reads "PrG" When I disconnect the microswitches, the main switch will move the flaps to several presets, but they are not correct. On the phone Roger said if it wouldn't program, the switch is likely bad. Oh, how I long for those halcyon training days of flying old planes with manual flaps! Thanks a million, ~~ Johnny Haley Palestine, Texas, aka the holy land So far my programming efforts are not working. The switch position doesn’t match the readout and is one click off … “zero” on the switch reads out as “-6" for example. And the readout is flashing … in all switch positions. And when I push the “program button” the display reads “PrC” or “PrG?” I am sending you a pic of this on the display. Wondering if I have a failed switch …
  10. Well after our phone call, I thought I had it figured out, but don't see any of the connectors you referenced. I guess I am looking in the wrong place ... here's a shot of the flaps board ...
  11. Hey Tip! Did you ever find pics or video of the flap setting process? I am now in this boat ~~ Johnny
  12. Greetings Intrepid Aviators, We have a nice CTSW for sale. N543DL has only 300 TTSN and is a well maintained, fully current, always hangared, sweet example of the breed. Annual inspection, 5 year rubber, rocket and chute all done recently. We have two CT's and since the kids are grown, we simply don't need it. Wife is also a pilot, so we can deliver within a reasonable distance ... and no, Iceland is not reasonable! More pics and specs on Barnstormers. Asking $68k, make offer!
  13. Hey Philip, Got it back! Once I realized I had to push MENU while on the INTERFACE page, the 496 output rate options come up. Just changed "Fast" to "Normal" and the pink arrow pops right back up ... so simple! ~~ Johnny
  14. Hey Eric, With the help of Dynon Support, I finally got it done. Had to enter updated values for the MAGINT and MAGINC, then recalibrate the compass. That got the Tru Trak back on track . Then, once I read the instructions 27 times for setting the 496 output rate, I got the CDI back. Finally realized I had to push "MENU" while on the 'INTERFACE" page. Changing the setting from "Fast" to "Normal" made the pink arrow come back to life ... simple! Thanks for replying! ~~ Johnny
  15. Well, I took the plane up yesterday, still with no Course Indicator. When I engaged the autopilot, it would turn towards the course, but then "swim" back and forth searching for it, making pretty steep turns. Does it in both modes, heading and gps steer. I landed and did an east/west/south/north recalibration to no effect. I have also queried Dynon. Anyone have any idea what this might be?
  16. Sure Philip ... I will definitely let ya know if I somehow manage to solve the riddle, but I'm not optimistic ... especially after hearing your experience! ~~ Johnny
  17. Yeah, that's been my working theory, so I have been trying all possible combinations to no avail. Interestingly, the "yellow box and arrow" on the HSI is pointing to the correct bearing, but the friendly pink arrow is AWOL. Hope I don't have some kinda virus ... I hear there's something going around. Thanks for your reply, ~~ Johnny
  18. Hey Johnnyjr, Yes, I searched those forums ... found things I have already tried. Also, been talking via phone to Dynon support directly ... to no avail. Sent Dynon support several emails and got ... crickets ... probably still victims of Coronacommunism Thanks for your reply! ~~ Johnny
  19. Ok, boys and girls I am stumped. My D120 was sent for repairs (new board and chip). All of my settings were lost, but I have managed to reset most everything. The one thing still missing though, is my Course Indicator and Course Deviation Indicator on the HSI. Garmin 496 is set to TIS in/NMEA out (Zaon traffic system installed) and seems to be communicating in that "Direct To" gives the distance to waypoint and the bearing, but no pink arrow. Hate to admit my addiction to the pink arrow, but there it is Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! ~~ Johnny
