  1. Most parts for CTsw 2006 for sale. No port wing but good starboard wing with no leaks. shipping world wide from Australia at cost.
  2. I would like to know what a new wing would cost for a CTSW, are they still available. I had no reply from the factory when I contacted them. As an option what would a 2nd hand wing be worth.
  3. G'day All. It may not be general knowledge but carbon fibre will conduct power & is flammable. If there is sufficient amperage the resistance will cause combustion. Most earths are connected to the firewall. It would be an advantage if the carbon fibre firewall was not connected to earth, I am not sure how that could be achieved but if it could, it would give an extra layer of protection. A short between + & -- cable would normally trip a circuit breaker. The short between a live wire & the carbon fibre firewall can very quickly cause a fire with a current less than the trip value of a circuit breaker. John WA
  4. I have just fitted a New Rotax engine & the oil sender is now an electronic type.. My gauges are 1 1/4" . I could fit the old VDO sensor but would prefer to change the gauge for the newer type. Not too keen on paying the inflated price for a new gauge. If anyone has a late type 1 1/4 oil pressure gauge (3 wire) that they want to sell please contact me. Regards John R
  5. Thanks for the reply & confirmation that I need to attach the switch(3). I have been unable to find a wiring diagram for the switch. Page 87 in the maintenance manual shows the switch connection to the board but does not show the connection to the switch which has 6 positions & appears to be a simple on /off DPDT. to further complicate my problems I have no idea where the switch was located. there does not seem to be anywhere that the switch could be fixed to with the threaded nut which is still on the old switch. Did they just tape it to the wiring harness ?. There are still remnants of masking tape around the old switch!. I cannot understand why the switch was removed. The flaps must have been programmed with this switch & after they were operating correctly the switch was removed??? Is it possible that the board was removed & programmed & then refitted??
  6. After much checking with none operating -6 flaps I needed to reset or reprogram. I received the 2 position up down switch & the micro switch when I purchased the 2006 CTSW 12 years ago. There was also a switch supplied that I had no idea as to what it had been used for. When I attempted to program, I realised that the switch had been removed from the board . I have not been able to program the flaps without the switch I am attaching a picture of the switch as it was supplied with the aircraft. Top marks & many thanks if anyone can explain how to program the flaps without this switch attached to the board. It would seem to be a most difficult job to reattach it. best regards John R Australia
  7. Completed Annual on 2006 CTSW. This did not include any adjustment to flaps. Aircraft standing for 5 weeks. On preparing for first flight was unable to trim to -6. Have done all connection checks still no -6. In manual mode it also stops at 0 & will not go to -6. I did check setting angles as part of the annual & all were correct except 40 which I calculated to be 37.5. Left all alone as I rarely use 40 flaps . The lower micro switch can be closed with a screwdriver to stop the flap in any setting. There is very little space at the setting for -6 where the "contact Block"goes past 0, the micro switch appears to stop the motor just after 0 & the indicator flashes -6. At that position there is still +1cm adjustment left on the slotted limiter, the stainless limit cable also has slack at that point. I have checked the clearances between the aileron & flaps & there is no contact that would prevent flaps extending to -6. Next time at hangar I will remove the operating arm above the micro switches to be certain that the flaps can reach -6 by operating flaps by hand. I would be most appreciative if anyone has had this problem & can tell me how they resolved it.
