  1. I checked a few weeks ago and we are still near the first on the list to receive the Flight Design C4 or equivalent. We would be flying that aircraft around the world if it were available to us. The next simple rugged and disposable aircraft we could find was a old Cessna 172. Whether we are lined up on final for Detroit metro or a 1400 foot gravel strip in the Yukon it seems to do the job. No we are not fast, but we are capable. In the end it is all fun and after crossing Guatemala earlier this year at 100o feet AGL the aircraft we are sitting in seems less important. get out there and do it because about once a year you add to the birthday scorecard. 2. Also just choose flight aware you can follow N79202, click on position on the flights. Try to have more information as the next three weeks progress. Farmer
  3. Robert and Paula Aloha from the Farmer. Welcome from Oahu where I live and work. My Ctls arrived in Hawaii with your airplane in a shared container in 2013. . I am based at PHJR and looking forward meeting you folks. Living in and loving it, Hawaii for 45 years FARMER
  4. We use a gas powered golf card. It will move everything including the twin Cessna. We had to decal it as an aircraft tuG to get it past the fire dept. We put the hitch on the front of the cart so it’s easy to push things into the hanger even uphill. New carts from Yamaha are a little over $5000. Used carts from a golf course are usually a grand or so. farmer
  5. I would very much like to put the VG’s on the CTLS and will do so whatever I can. As you can see in the video take offs are with 30° flaps in gusts conditions. Approach to landing has the AOA at the beginnings of the red and Dynon complains about SPD in my ears. You can get in about 500 feet of grass in these conditions not using any brakes. Departure is approximately the same performance level I have VG ‘s installed on the Superstol J 30 And my son just put them on his Cessna 172 SP. it’s not a lot of difference just makes you a little more comfortable on the low-speed approaches in gusts conditions. Hurricane Lane went from a category five to a tropical storm in 24 hours and we are all planning a celebration here at the farm it was on a collision course headed to my office Farmer

    Garmin 696 Repair

Same issue yesterday for my 696 in Hawaii. I removed the battery altogether and it seemed to help for now anyway. This problem started from new once in a while, but always came back after I disconnected and replaced battery. I come to understand that some have just removed battery. I would like to understand more as we all learn. Guess we will need to call XM to change serial number, oh yes after charging me for six months they confessed that they did not have service in Hawaii and no refund. Always in wrong business! Thanks Farmer
  7. Adam, gbigs Not to complain, just facts. I purchased, with a 2012, yes 2012, Sun-n-Fun discount, a new CTLSi more than a year ago. I am not tracking day to day but it is supposed to be in the container that gbigs belives will arive soon at KVGT. I saw the first two arrive at KVGT and the struggle to get then delivered. It is not always best to be first! I will believe they are flying when I see them flying. Gbigs, I hope they are as good as you believe. I could not part with N413F so it and another owners CTLS arrived in Hawaii this week to live here. I know of no other based in Hawaii. We hope to assemble both and get them flying the islands next week. My home strip will be 1250 feet in the middle of a banana field a couple of miles from Pearl Harbor. Maybe I can post a banana field landing soon. Point of post, fellow flight Design pilots you will have a place to visit, if you get a chance, and we will do a circle island flight. Thanks to the Flight Design West folks for helping with the move. See you all at Page. Farmer
