  1. John, I guess we should have kept our helments! . . .
  2. I cannot count the times I have tried to bend the wingtips on my CTSW (Roger Lee was witness to it, at least twice). And . . . it is always on the same spot on my head. I have an almost permanent mark there. However . . . I think I have found a solution. I have stopped wearing my ball cap around the airplane. Has not happened since then . . . thankfully!
  3. Mike, With all due respect, I don't think anybody here is suggesting that. Of course, it is better to get some dual time with an instructor. But at the same time, and I speak for myself, I see nothing wrong with exchanging pilot techniques and sharing our collective experience with the newer cadre. Before I obtained experience in the CT type, I found the information on this forum very helpful as I progressed along in my training. I am still learning . . and I thank the pilots on this forum for passing on their words of wisdom.
  4. Happy Easter everybody!
  5. Just one more tool in your toolbox.
  6. Thank you. Great information and pictures.
  7. If you are a veteran, Ed, try Navy Federal Credit Union.
  8. By any standard, that is pretty impressive.
  9. At first glance (artist rendering), it appears the above photo is the electric version. i.e. no exhaust pipe and the large air scoop is missing.
  10. I believe the rocket and chute were shipped separately. Rocket was more expensive, due to it being HAZMAT (ground transport).
  11. You are correct. For me, it was about $200.
  12. If your not afraid to turn a few wrenches once in a while, then Experimental is the way to go. Owners can save a considerable amount of annual expense by doing simple repairs and after completing the 16-hour Repairman (LSA) Inspection Airplane Workshop, they can do their own annual Condition Inspections. Not to mention, as previously noted, do their own avionic upgrades, free of the LOA tether from the manufacturer. It's kind of a no brainer.
  13. *Note: During Takeoffs/Go-Arounds, "Do not reduce the flaps to below 0ยบ with less than 59 kts (110 km/h) airspeed." Flight Design Flight Training Supplement CTSW pg. 3-3
  14. In order for Skyview Displays to control AP functionality, Skyview servos must be installed. If other AP brands (servos) are used, that integrated functionality is lost and those AP's are operated separately from Skyview. i.e. TT.
  15. By popular demand, the new shear pin for the Dynon Skyview AP servos has been beefed up. The improvement occurred a couple years ago.
  16. Congratulations and welcome to the family of CT owners! . . .
  17. That could turn into a good 3-D printing project for someone.
  18. That's a beautiful job. Any possibility you could post some additional pictures (both sides) and a web link to the light? Would sure appreciate it. How much labor did you invest in it. Does the light have a provision for angular aim adjustment? Again . . . a really nice installation for Experimental's. That's the best I've seen.
