  1. I just switched to a 2 channel Switcheon (SwitcheOn 4G/LTE App controlled devices that Just Work - SwitcheOn) from a 2G Switchbox. Works great. I I also decided to buy the cabin heater from Tanis (Avionics/Cabin Heater Archives - Tanis Aircraft Products) which also warms up the cabin now while I am remotely pre-heating the engine. I know its more expensive that a ceramic heater on amazon but i really like it.
  2. Did you check with Arian at FDUSA? I had mine done last June with him with no issues. 2013 CTLSi.
  3. By the way I use Sailflow App for wind prediction. Find Windy too complicated. .
  4. I have about 300 hours now in my CT and winds still get my attention all the time. I won’t go if gusting above 20 and even 12G19 may cause me to re-think. Every so long often I think about taking a flight in a heavier plane to remember what that was like:) of course everyone has their tolerance and skill and should make their decisions accordingly.
  5. Just had the repack done. All things considered I didn’t think my parachute repack cost was that bad. I haven’t done the rocket but even that seems ok. So 12 years cost is about $5k. (2 repacks and a rocket plus some labor). Every time I think of going to a used cirrus I think of the $20k that chute costs every 10 years. So all in all feels better. Of course its optional to buy a plane with a parachute. I guess I don’t mind the $450 a year reserve as a kind of safety insurance. Not saying less wouldn’t be better....
  6. What’s a new CTSW? They still make them?
  7. I have a CTLSi. I stopped filtering or using ethanol free a couple years ago. So far no issues.
  8. Maybe the 915iS will be an option at some point unless its too heavy.
  9. I know I have asked this before--the CTLSi has a 12V, 10Ah Lithium-Iron-Phosphate battery. Is that the same as Lithium Ion and if not why do you mention it above?
  10. Also, Rotax Owner produced a video on 912iS redundancy. Note sure if its free to view or not. http://www.rotax-owner.com/all-videos/rotax-minute/412-912is-redundancy
  11. from the 912iS owners manual: 1) If Alternator A fails, ECU automatically switches to B. (no power drop is recognizable) 2) Failure of both EMS power supplies result in engine stoppage Remedy: Switch "On" the backup battery switch. In this case, power supply is provided by the aircraft batttery. 3) Land the plane at the next available opportunity.
  12. I'm 13-02-03. Hoping to get an update next week when Tom returns from his trip.
  13. That's great, let me know Adam. You get a serial number yet?
