Hi Bobby,

 

The wing tip lights are held on by a screw and lots of silicone. FD could have used a little around the edges, but they put it over the entire back side. Take a thin blade putty knife and work it under the pointed end. Then work it more and more towards the fat end. It will come right off. There is no strobe box. use a light that is self contained. There are probably several that would work.

i would try it by soon since my current pos light is off now.

 

how possible to replace with AVEO 3 in 1?.

should be ok right?.

 

AVEO 3 in 1 has pos, nav and strobe in one while the current from FD is only pos light and not that bright too.

I bought aveo 3 in 1 from aircraft spruce as well, quite expensive i recognize but as long it bright and safe to me then im ok.

 

Aviotion is expensive and safety is priceless.

dear Roger,

one more things i almost forget, in aveo 3 in one the one i bought (http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/elpages/aveoeseries.php) has 3 light, pos, nav and strobe. should i makes another switch for each or just let it on at the same time with one switch?.

 

please advise ok.

You either need to tie the VCC for strobe and position lights together or you need to snake another wire throught the wing if you want to use separate switches. I'm not sure how easy that is; depends how big the wire tunnel is through the wing. You need another wire if you want the stobes to synchronise with each other.

Leave the whole thing on one switch, you'll be glad you did :D

thanks for your all feedback.

 

im successfully removed the current pos light and replace with AVEO 3 in 1 AURORA series, it took about 2hour for me to debonder the glue.

im using fishing rod string to cut all the glue but before im applying GO GONE oil to soft the glue.

 

please see the photo attach.

 

now im having an issue after the installation, i had little induction noise thru my headset due the strobe.

any one has idea about this.

 

i put all light to 1 switch.

I was wondering how well Aveo managed to filter the pulsed strobe current. Seems they don't. So this is a bit trial and error but you need to choke the current and filter the voltage to the lights. I would try this combination of series choke and shunt cap. The coil connects in series with the +12V to VCC lines and the cap should go after the coil and to ground with the negative (careful not to mix that up). There is no high frequency like with a true Xenon strobe but the 3.2Amp current pulses can play havoc with the line voltage. I was worried about this since I can faintly hear when my transponder is interrogated so I know the combination Ducati regulator, battery, sketchy wiring setup in the CT does not do a great job with line regulation.

The connection to the lights is in parallel with the capacitor, top to both Vcc connections and bottom is common ground.
