Door lock pin

Hi Niels

I had to replace one on my LS, FDUSA had them and it just screws on.

I did extend the life of my first one with a little dab of JB weld applied to the ball side, let it dry then sand to shape again. This held up for a couple hundred hours. Don't close the door side while the JB is wet!

Hi all

Can anyone tell me where I can get the pin, which is worn and no longer locks the oil inspection door?

Many thanks.

Hello Roger

Thank you for the reply, Aircraft Spruce say they don't have it. I have put in a request for the pin to Flight Design Germany through the local Agent in Australia. I will give progress reports here.

Hi Eric

Thank you for your reply and the tip, it may come that in the end. I am hopeful that Flight Design will supply the part with the effiency German Companies are known for.

Niels, mine needs to be replaced also. If I turn it to the right spot it will hold. Let me know what you find out about the replacement part.

Hi dggrant

I turned my pin about 18 month ago but now it is worn on both sides and useless. I have ordered the pin from Flight Design GMBH Germany through their local Australian "Flight Design Distributor" and I will let everybody know in the loop, including the German Directors, how they perform.

Thank you

Just received this part from FD USA. The part was $5.95, but since they only use UPS the shipping was $15.62 making the total $21.57. It seems like they could have thrown it into a Priority Mail or even just a padded envelope - somebody must live near a postal service drop off. :-\
