Since I don't have a chute, I was always on the lookout for landing sites - here there's not much other than maybe lining up with the straightest portion of that dirt road! I find when the traffic is flying strait in for 27 and landing downwind I enter on a 45 and land niner. Here my camera is pointed down, if I point forward and crop out my wind I can get a normal perspective. The forward point makes for better video too. The result is a number of flows that behave like giant out of control firehoses. Steve Fosset went down within 1 mile of my position when shooting this photo. Just over the left foreground ridge. NTSB said downdrafts were a factor.
