Service Bulletin Check List

Recommended Posts

This is a nice touch from FD,

Use them and let the force be with you. :)

Flight Design USA has been working to provide the best service at a reasonable cost to the owners of all CT aircraft. In addition to obtaining locally sourced parts we have developed processes and procedures to help speed up maintenance we do on CT aircraft we see, many of which we may never have worked on before.

Our mechanics have been using this attached, internal use only checklist, designed to help document the status of service bulletins on airplanes during annual as well as those we see for the first time. You can use the list to consolidate the SB compliance that may be in different places. Once you complete this form and attach it to the customers log book, there will not be a reason to check each log entry each time but only to verify that any new SB has been added by the manufacturer since the form was completed.

Once you verify compliance, using the checklist and actual aircraft and Rotax serial numbers, future inspections will be faster and more efficient.. This list will provide you with a quick reference during routine maintenance or a pre-purchase inspection to verify that all SD'S & SB's have been documented and if required compiled with. It will also help with re-occurring items that might get overlooked for service and help you avoid making a false statement in the log book.

We have found that the owner appreciates and is impressed that a comprehensive document has been tailor made for their aircraft and that in the future, he could have a faster annual with associated cost savings because now you won't have to expend time performing a review at each service or annual.

Disclaimer - This is a static list so it is not a guarantee that all SB's, SD's or other is complete since you must confirm that no new SB have been added and applied to the specific aircraft that it is complete. Having most of the work already documented will make this process faster.

There are two checklists one for the CTsw and one for the CTLS. This will not be on the web site so I suggest you save it as a form from this email.

Thanks for posting this. It takes a lot of time and effort to stay up to date but as indicated, this could be the deal breaker when selling a CT. Here's my own format I developed for keeping track of the SB's for my CTSW (not a complete list, modified for example). I do this for FD, Rotax and avionics SB's:

These nicely done compiled list of SB's is a great way to compliment your paperwork and documentation. It allows you or a mechanic or new buyer to look and see what was applicable and if you document right it will serve as a great way to see what has been done or was not applicable. These sheets when kept up ought to save you money too because then no one needs to research the past and can immediately look to see the plane has been well maintained. Having all your documentation ducks in a row will get you top dollar when it comes time to sell.

These SB's are on the FDUSA website for the public, but these are a great advantage and help to the individual owners. I haven't seen any other company do this and think it was very pro-active and nice of FD to compile and send these out. That's forward thinking.

Thanks FDUSA
