Rich
Good afternoon, I'd appreciate a picture of the upper motor mount, inside firewall (cabin) fastening point for the CT. Also, is it fastened through the fiberglass with no backing (aluminum or SS) plate? Can anyone explain just how CT supports the mounts through the firewall? Thanks, Rich
Roger Lee
The engine mount bracket is bolted directly against the firewall and the bolts just go all the way through. Fender washers go between the bracket and firewall only to adjust the proper engine alignment. There are no metal plates on the inside the cockpit where the nuts are located. The firewall itself is beefed up to support the stress. I have never seen or heard one just crack unless it was in an incident and smacked the nose gear really hard.
