A small single crack isn't something to be worried about if it runs along the blade in a small area, but if it is a long crack (more than an inch) running longitudinally, you see more than one near each other, or if you see ANY cracks run transverse, then it needs to be sent in for inspection. cdarza Posted November 10, 2014 Report Share Posted November 10, 2014 I had alot of cracks on the Neuform. 7 years and 500 hours of use only. It appeared to be gelcoat (i posted pics on this site) but eventually i was not comfortable not knowing for sure. Cost of shipping, repair etc was almost the same as buying a new one - so i ended up getting a new Sensenich. The Neuform is on display on my office wall. cdarza Posted November 11, 2014 Report Share Posted November 11, 2014 Was your plane hangared? Yes it was hangared. Suspicion was that the plane was out in the elements - sun / rain. Nope. It was in a open hangar (no closed doors) but was definately kept dry at all times. It was not under the sun all day either. Just a bit of late afternoon sun. The cracks developed slowly over the course of a couple of years. It was when they were quite prominent that i began to have concern. Oh - and just incase anyone might ask - i have nothing against the Neuform props. It was just easier to get the Sensenich and they were very reasonably priced.
