Tip
On our first day going west, we flew 11 hours. Sunrise to sunset. We saw 42 knot headwinds at times and it was extremely rough. Amazingly, Mark and Matt's FitBits recorded over 12,000 steps!

CT_MATT
Thanks Roger, Tim, Olav, and all of the others who made this fly-in awesome!!! We definitely had quite the adventure getting out there and back but I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it (except getting sick and missing some of the dinner gatherings and Friday's flights). Thanks Farmer for the ride to Walmart to get some meds (it's much farther than the map would have it appear). I'm not sure when I will be able to make it back but, it definitely on my to do list! Hopefully we will cross paths again in the near future. Once we get our pictures in order, I will be sure to post some. For those who haven't been here for this, I highly recommend it! As Tip mentioned, we fought wicked headwinds, some rough air, and about a 30 hour round trip to make it there and It was well worth it!
wlfpckrs
What a great time Elaine and I had at the Fly-In --- and what great new friends we made! This (and our flight to the Bahamas) is a flight of a lifetime. We came out a couple days early to see Sedona and spend a night in Las Vegas and then decided to leave on Friday after seeing virtually everything we had hoped to see and being a little leery about the weekend weather forecast. Like others have said, this is a pilgrimage that every CT owner needs to make at least once. Enjoy some of our favorite shots.

FlyingMonkey
Roger, we've been trapped in Victoria, TX (KVCT) for two days now. We might get out tomorrow, might not.
Craig
Roger, we've been trapped in Victoria, TX (KVCT) for two days now. We might get out tomorrow, might not. Probably have the option of leaving.... but to where... looks like nowhere near KWDR. Sounds like they're treating you well in Victoria though. They say its hard to beat Texas hospitality! Keeping fingers crossed for better weather!

FlyingMonkey
Andy, Are you hangared? We were hangared almost the entire trip. That part worked out well. The hangar in Beaumont, TX was pretty sketchy, but it was shelter.
FlyingMonkey
The fly-in seems anti-climactic compared to Morden's little stuck flight home. Not at all. In fact, the fly-in was so much fun that the return drama was worth it.

Though we may sometimes disagree, we are all still a Flight Design and aviation family. And root for good flights and safe returns.
