Throttle Cables

I replaced a cable one time and it took about 20 minutes. It is quite easy. You will need to crimp a cable end on the end, inside the cabin down by the throttle handle. You want a multi strand cable that is VERY flexible. No stiff cable. Something like a 1x7 or 7x7. Usually the more strands the more flexible. This cable is only about 1.2mm or 3/64". You will have to do an internet search as I don't happen to have a supplier. Make sure to ask them if it is very flexible.

Not familiar with "1x7" or "7x7"?  What does this refer to?  Maybe the "1mm" refers the diameter of the inside cable?  Thinking maybe Jacques has it right for looking for this at a bike shop due to the need for flexibility.

It refers to strands and bundles. It tells you a lot about strength, flexibility, and durability of the cable.

1x7 means 1 bundle, 7 strands per bundle. 7x7 would mean 7 bundles with 7 strands each.

More wires and bundles means more flexibility, but lower durability and strength due to internal abrasion and stretchability.
