AZAV8OR
Arian Folden (Dave Armando's replacement, I assume) sent me the following link for Skyview 11. http://flightdesign.com/wordpress/?page_id=4524 It may not be v12, but I'll take the great features we're getting in the jump from 6.2! Roger Lee
Just a note: Arian has been with FD for a long time. He just took over dave's spot when he left. He's up on everything. Nice guy.
FlyingMonkey
I had occasion to deal with Arian quite a bit recently, he's excellent.
Tony & Rose
My experience for eight years is that they don't get any better than Arian....
Anticept
That's because Arian is also a tinkerer and likes to absorb all he can. I end up wasting so much of his time because we talk about so many things...
AZAV8OR
Has anyone downloaded the file? I've tried several times, but the file will not open. Winzip says it is not a valid zip file. Anyone? Anyone?
Anticept
Try 7-zip, or redownload. Which file are you referring to anyways?
AZAV8OR
Corey, The file I'm trying to open is the 6.2 t0 11x package found here: http://flightdesign.com/wordpress/?page_id=4524 I've tried both WinZip and 7-Zip, with three downloads. All fail to open with a non-valid zip file error. Thoughts?
Roger Lee
Hi Kevin, I don't think you can actually open this file and look at it. It is a file that is only loadable on the skyview. p.s. Your paperwork is in your plane.
AZAV8OR
Hi Roger, The download is a zip file containing the new sw version plus some other items. Thanks in the paperwork.

AZAV8OR
Corey and Charlie Tango: I have now tried three machines and continue to get a "not valid archive" on my home machine or "CRC errors" when attempting to unzip at my office. I have tried multiple downloads with MS Essentials turned off. This is really bizarre. Do either of you have access to DropBox (or similar) so I can grab the 6.2 to 11.x upgrade file from you? Thanks! Kevin
Roger Lee
I just downloaded the file. It unzipped and I was able to open the 2 pdf files, but the duc file will not open and is for the Dynon software only.
AZAV8OR
Roger, I understand that I cannot open a DUC file. I'm not getting that far. Either the zip won't open (errs out with "not a valid archive file") or when it does start to unzip the file, I get CRC errors.

gbigs
As I indicted a month ago, having an FD shop do the upgrade is an easy way to get this done...
Doug G.
Some of us went LS because we could do things ourselves. I am in the midst of a hose change. Why? Because I know I can. Is it easy, no. Because it is cheap, no. Will I know more about my plane because I do things myself, yes.
