procharger
Maybe more people are flying due to lower fuel prices and slightly better economy??= more crashes Speaking of crashes has anyone heard of fatality in a Flight Design plane crash? Anticept
13% is based on number of fatalities, but it's an 8% increase in the fatalities per 100k hrs of flying (6.23 to 6.74). That's quite a jump and does account for increases in flying.
FlyingMonkey
It might be that more people are flying who have not flown in a long time. A lack of pilot currency and proficiency, combined with marginal or substandard maintenance on their airplanes that have sat for a while, could easily account for the increase. CT4ME
Speaking of crashes has anyone heard of fatality in a Flight Design plane crash? Two in US, I believe... one was in NM, caught up in bad dust devil on short final. Other was a year ago in NY, take-off problem, with possible pilot incapacitation or control issues.
