Anticept
Hey all! Had to reject a spark plug boot. Was curious what it looked like on the inside, so I did a teardown! See my imgur album: https://imgur.com/a/5SMW1 Theoretically, if you could somehow remove that inside piece and replace the retaining spring, a person could save a bit of change! Of course, none of that is sanctioned .
Roger Lee
Cutaway picture. You can see that if you smack the end of the boot with your hand to push it on you will break the resistor. Push or pull from the outside edges. Never smack the end.
Anticept
It's kind of surprising actually that both the boots and the plugs have resistors.
DHeal
Wow! Very enlightening pictures, particularly Roger's cutaway shot. One can easily see why "smacking" the boots onto the plugs is a bad idea. Great info.
Runtoeat
Where else you gonna find this info? Never knew about this. Thanks Corey and Roger.
