airhound
Some owner users, under the watchful eye of certified maintenance types have pulled or bucked rivets in their spam cans. Has any owner user performed composite work out there?
Roger Lee
There really isn't any that would need changing. There are a few rivets here and there, but unless something gets damaged nothing to just replace.
FlyingMonkey
If you are asking about general supervised work, yes it's allowed. I basically do my own work with my A&P supervising 90% of the time. He watches and checks the work and signs off the logbook. It's a great way to learn your airplane. As for supervised composite lay up and repair work...I suppose it's allowed, but IMO that kind of work might be best left to professionals, it's a little more finesse and art form than pulling/bucking rivets.
