Really enjoy this forum. I am now about 20 hrs into my 2008 CTLS and loving it. It's my first plane so I'm not quite ready for prime time yet. A few questions

1) I'm too old to be carting gas from the filling station so I am using Avgas 100 LL with Declin additive. Engine runs great. Please comment Total engine tine 350 hrs

2) Where can I order a tail tie down sling

3) Although every plane is a little different but I would like to know folks range of preferred landing speeds in various conditions.

1.  Avgas will work but, even with Decalin, there will be a build-up of lead.  Also certain maintenance intervals become shorter.  You might consider using "tuff jugs" to make refueling easier, or putting together one of the battery-powered fuel pump systems.  Somewhere here on the forum was a picture from an engine that ran only 100LL.  It wasn't pretty.

2. Tail sling.  First place to look would be Flight Design USA, AeroJones,  or the new AreoJones Americas.  But why?  It's just a padded nylon strap with a couple of loops at the ends, and a poor design at that.  You could make something better, or have an upholstery or seatbelt shop make you one.

3. Much written here on landing specs, with plenty of debate.  Use the search function at the top-right.  I'm all over the place when it comes to landing, but my normal landing is 15 flaps and about 60 kts on very short final.  My ugliest landings always seem to come with too much speed.  A well-executed 30+ landing is a thing of beauty and will save your tires and brakes, but requires more skill.  I think the CT handles X-wind landings well.  I've landed with direct crosswinds of 28G34, at Zero, but don't suggest it should be an everyday thing.  However 8-12 kts is a non-event.

I think I remember being told by FD Germany or USA that the strap is reinforced with Kevlar.
