Thanks for dropping by and helping us work out the kinks of a the forum...

We currently know about these issues... and are working on them:

**** IN PROGRESS ***** The site is slow because a different site, on our shared server, is under some sort of attack. They know about it and are working on it...

For those folks who asked about a "What's New" button - it's there, but called "View New Content". It's in the upper-right corner, just below the search box. Just click on the actual text (NOT the orange button).

Check the "Quick Forum Tips" section for info on customizing what the button shows you.

I'd like to search on FAA, ADS, FAR, GPS and other strings with fewer than four characters.  Is there a way?  Thank you.

Also, can one search on a date range? such as everything in March, the last two days, between 7 Apr and 4 Jun, etc/?

Hi Jim,

The only option to us is in the "Advanced Search" which is on the far right edge of the search window. looks like a little serrated wheel. The FAA, GPS things can't be change, but you can search by date. There is a new forum update to software we are looking at, but I'm not sure if the search criteria will change with that.

It seems that editing a post does not trigger is as "new", is that right? For example, if I post, "I fly my CTSW at 1000 mph" and then go in and change it to "I fly my CTSW at 100 mph", this new information is not shown as "new post". To make sure everyone caught an edit that was substantive, we should perhaps make the correction but also start a new message with a pointer to the correction if we wanted to be sure that the change came to everyone's attention?

There is NO MALWARE on this forum... however, there may be a link that takes you to a website that does harbor malware. Be careful of the URL-shortening links, like URL4short or Bitly or TinyUrl. We are reviewing the links, and will remove any posts that are suspicious. Anyone posting such links will be banned.

'gotta assume it's something in your browser, or forum settings. I log into the forum for many different client computers every day... no problems. I'd try clearing your cache, and try a different computer or browser (at least for test purposes)

I'm occasionally getting redirected to various http://url4short.info pages when opening ctflier.com webpages from search engines. Having previously worked in the IT field, this immediately threw up red flags, so I tested with several devices and went into security lockdown on my systems. I have not been able to locate anything on any of my devices (but are exhibiting the same symptoms). I then went searching for vulnerabilities that may have existed recently in IP.Board that may have led to either a code or sql injection.

This came up: http://peter.upfold....url4short-mess/

This also might be the source of why ctflier.com was flagged as suspicious.

Infections like this only pop up once in a while for different users randomly, so they can try to remain hidden as long as possible. They are designed to look like infections on the client, not the server. I always hated these infections because of how difficult they are to hunt down.

We were down a couple of times on July 28th.  The second time required a replacement of the computer hardware.  In the process, it looks like we lost part of a days posts.  They cannot be retrieved, as the backup is done once a day.  Please re-post if you can.
