  1. No, I"m just a really friendly person! The install is simple. It fits the same hold in the panel and uses the same wiring. There are a few pin changes but I supply an adapter (two 25-pin connectors with about 8" of wire between them) that makes it a complete plug and play install. The only additional part you'll have to do is add the AP level switch, if you want to be able to use it. As for what you'll gain, the altitude select feature is almost invaluable. With the round controller the upgrade is $900 and will get a fresh three year warranty on the controller. Let me know if I can help! EDIT: I made a typo in my first post in this thread. Sorry! The Vizion DOES interface with the Skyview.
  2. The Vizion autopilot will now interface to the Dynon Skyview so you get some integrated controls, yet retain some redundancy that you don't get with a Skyview autopilot. The newest version of the Vizion software will allow the autopilot to follow the heading bug, flight plan CDI, altitude bug, and vertical speed bug from the Skyview. All with only one button press on the autopilot itself. Andy, if you're interested in the Vizion, the upgrade is now less expensive at $900 for the controller upgrade if it's a round one and $1000 if it's a flat one. EDIT: I realized I made a HUGE but small typo by putting it will NOT interface to the Skyview. The Vizion DOES interface to the Skyview. I've fixed the typo.
  3. True with the CT, unfortunately. But there are several other applications where the bracket has clearance for installing the entire assembly.
  4. This particular reason is why we install the torque enhancers now instead of allowing them to be left off. We've had a few customers break the brass shear screw while trying to cinch down the nut. That said, you don't have to get crazy with the tightening. In our exhaustive tests of that setup versus the old screw setup, the required dynamic torque to keep the screw backing off remained constant all the way off and was very close to the static torque. I do not remember the exact numbers though.
