  1. What to bring for a lesson?

    Thanks for the input. I have my own headset, wallet (not very fat) log book, student pilot certificate. I'll bring the whole bag of books with me but leave them in the truck unless the instructor says otherwise. Call me a wimp but i like soft soled shoes for the pedal feel. When I drove stock cars the racing shoes are very soft bottomed for the same reason.
  2. I'm about to resume my training at another school. I used to carry the whole big bag of books with me but I don't think it's necessary. What are the essentials to bring for a lesson.

    Raven, Looks like our stories are similar. I am also 54 (old dog) also having landing problems. Everything right up to the flare part is fine. He tells me to pick a spot at the end of the runway but I don't know what I'm looking for. I guess we don't want to mention any names here so if you could pm me with the name of the instructor that helped the most. I haven't been flying since last march but I'm going to be starting again soon and i can't afford to screw around. I believe when it comes to learning we all have a keyword that someone has to say to make it all click and they haven't found mine yet. I don't know where your located in relation to khfd but I'm in New Britain and was thinking of taking a couple of lessons at sport flying of Ct. at kdxr just to see if there's a difference. they have the tecnam there. Don't get me wrong, I love the flight design and 747JD will always have a place in my memories as the first small plane I flew but if I had 37+ hours and hadn't soloed yet I'd be looking for an alternative.   4. Fly-In Clothing

    there has to be somehwere to get flight design apparel. i would think it would be a good marketing tool or if for nothing else to make a few extra bucks.

    Here in Connecticut as far as the tower is concerned we call ourselves flight design. the designator when calling for weather breifings is fdct
