Darryl
Anybody want to fly your CT across Canada this summer? Join me in my CTLS and a group of 100 airplanes that will fly from Vancouver BC to Prince Edward Island - departing July 13th. The group I am joining is called the Century Flight Club. This will be the 5th year this group has done a trans-Canadian flight. It will be my first experience with the group; so I really don't know what to expect except an adventure. The registration fee is $850. For more info go to: http://www.crosscanadaflight.com/index.html Let me know if you would like to go. Darryl Swenson. CTLS - N172LM. Seattle WA. Doug G.
Unfortunately, I cannot fly in Canada. I live close and would like to make trips north, but until the Spot Pilot certificate is accepted I will have to remain south of the border. It does sound like fun. Duane Jefts
You also have to have a FAA medical to fly in Canada.
Farmer
Darryl Nice to see you have a big trip planned this summer. It was nice flying with you this last fall at Page this past October. Duane and I planning to try the Alaska trip this summer, in the same time frame. Perhaps another year. Good luck Larry N413F
Ian
Darryl I'm a CT owner in the UK - I'd love to do this BUT obviously logistics do come into it I've flown in Canada in the past (in fact did a floatplane rating on Vancouver Island) - do you know if anyone on the West Coast of Canada would rent out at CTLS for a period to enable this flight? Cheers Ian
Darryl
Hi Ian - I don't know of anybody who might rent a CT. The only thing I might suggest is contacting some of the dealers listed on the Flight Design website.
Ian
Hi Darryl, thanks for the reply - looking on http://www.flightdesign.com/index.php?page=pilot_centers# there don't seem to be any dealers or pilot centres in Canada, the nearest to BC would appear to be somewhere in northern California - I rather suspect the difficulties of a UK national trying to rent in the US to fly across Canada might be a tad tricky (and of course I'd want a one way rental LOL!!) Perhaps a project to plan for a year ahead?
