I have made the trip from HHR for five of the past six years in my CT, excluding last summer. The routes have varied a lot, crossing the mountains as south as Colorado and as north as Glacier park. I can't really set the route until the day before I leave, and then I revise it each day according to the weather. I want to go again this year. Lots of fun! WF

I have landed and parked at the ultralight strip for 3 of the 4 years, camping under the wing just outside the ultralight strip. The grass strip is plenty long for our CTs. It is a different proceedure getting in there, and you don't see the runway until the last minute turning final. I use GPS lat-long coordinates to fly the ultralight approach at 50 knots and flaps 30. You also use a lower altitude. I stop somewhere close by and call the ultralight barn on the phone, make sure I am not going to run into a swarm of powered parachutes or something. WF
