rookie
I have to analyze everything to death before making a decision. Obviously I won’t have that option in an emergency so I’ve developed my criteria for pulling the handle. Structural failure, flight control problems, and water. Nights are no longer an option since I’m Light Sport. Other than that I’ll try and land it . I’m also a big fan of getting real life experience with off field , roads and engine out landings. Like so many things once you do it a couple of times it’s no longer the boogey man. The first time I shut the engine down I thought I’d wet my pants, instead it was the most fun I’d had in a long time.
FastEddieB
Picture of the MN deployment: Reading about it now on COPA. Looks like it might fall into the "salvageable" category. Glad the ice held!
Doug G.
Last winter there would have been no ice!
