Anticept
Nope, never have. On that note, I've put in a question to FD. The skyview and D-120 displays can read the flap positions from the 10k potentiometer. The flap motor is controlled by a motor control relay board, separate from the fancypants controller that we interact with in the cockpit. The flap controller controls the relay board using two wires and a common ground, which is just perfect to use a three position momentary with center off in it's place. I've asked dave if FD has had a request to completely get rid of those overpriced control boards and just use the displays to report flap positions, while we have a simple little switch to manually control the flap positions. If my controller ever fails, I'm definitely going to try and go in that direction. 1,300 bucks for a tiny control board is too much (although I know, after R&D, insurance, and two companies, it gets expensive quick).
