Greens think science is a consensus or worse, a popularity contest. Dogged clinging to a pet idea without merit. Real science is truth seeking and rigorous - verifiable. This policy was initiated in in the Bush administration and carried out in the Obama administration. This effectively ended the US. manned space travel (except for the ridiculous rides in Soyuz aircraft). Deep planetary missions were affected less so, but were affected never the less. I still think for the reasons above, NASA has not been as effective as it should. As you see this is not a partisan political issue as much as a policy issue.
