What that means is if you find a spar crack a day after you buy a plane, the person you bought it from might not have known either. Be stern, but don't be an ass. Agreed. I have seen it both ways. Usually it was ignorance on the part of the seller. Other times it can be a condition that showed up after they had their last annual. To me, this is reason enough to pay for a really good pre-buy.
