It's confirmed... Chris, a pilot and medical professional from Escalante, is going to make sure transportation is available to get us into town!   Chris lives at the airport, flys a 172 (converted to tailwheel), and spent a lot of time flying backwoods in Alaska.  Just like Paul Bowmar (rip), he loves Escalante and is helping make the airport a fly-in destination.

Here's the Circle D's breakfast menu

For your Future Flying Pleasure... Escalante (1L7) now has fuel, a pilot lounge/house, a free campground (with cookshack), and is working out the details for their donated courtesy car!

Here is the GPS and airport data for the fly-in. Another attachment is flight rules and safety.

Attached is also a flight card if you want to use this. This credit goes to Dave Fleming for our use.

I highly recommend you print the GPS, airport data and flight rules out and bring them with you.

These attachments are in two formats. Word and PDF

Hi Andy,

Lows are around 53 and highs around 75. One year the highs were 80-82.  The worst winds we have ever had was 6-7 mph.  Beautiful time of year up there. We will fly anywhere from 4K to 9.5k. If you do the grand Canyon that will be 10K to 11.5K.

It's all great flying with the cool temps.

For this time of the year, what is the weather and temperature likely to be in Page?  Desert is likely warm in the day and cold at night, but what are typical highs and lows?  Winds?

I departed Page for Mammoth one year with a big head wind and a long leg to Tonopah NV without any tape on my Radiator.  I was hypo thermic by the time we landed in Tonopah and had a hard time getting warm again.

Conditions at the fly-in are typically great but you are in proximity (time and distance) to big sudden changes.

As CT says, the weather at the Fly-in has always been great, if not perfect.  Knock on Wood.  Maybe 70-75 days, and maybe 50 at night.  A look at some of the past photos or videos will tell the tale... perfection.  Bryce might be 55-60 for the high and 25-30 for the low.  Of course, we're there fairly early, so it'll be on the cooler side (which is good for DA!).  Systems come and go, but usually move through quickly.
