Roger Lee
If the lock is okay then here are the two things that are most likely going on. On the door seal has settled and the slot for the lock doesn't line up any more or the frame has settled (yes it happens all the time) and the slot doesn't line up. Take a little time and look and then take your handy dandy Dremel tool with a cut off blade or small grinding type bit and elongate or widen the hole a tad. It won't hurt a thing and have have done several this way.
Runtoeat
LsaPilot, put a small dab of black paint on the point of the latch. While the paint is still wet, close the door and try to latch it. Unlatch and open the door. You should see a mark of black paint where the latch touches near the hole in the door opening. Assuming the latch isn't loose or needs repair and just does not align correctly with the hole in the door, open up the hole as indicated by the black paint mark with dremmel, as Roger describes. You will want to remove some material, check, remove, check. Go slow. Don't take off any more material from the door opening than is needed.
