Anticept
https://www.faa.gov/aircraft/safety/programs/sups/upn/media/2016/UPN_2016-2013NM460018.pdf Ameri-king ELTs are used in quite a few aircraft, including many CTs. From what I gather, LSA's aren't affected unless a TSOA is required (I see no requirement in the regs for non-TC'ed a/c), but it certainly shakes my faith in the ones that we do have installed. An investigation is ongoing, and ADs are likely to be issued for removal of their equipment in quite a large swathe of products.

Runtoeat
I attended a training seminar Saturday. The FSDO FAA avionics inspector said the newer AmeriKing 451 with 406 freq. were NFG but not sure which models of this? The old AK450 121.5 freq. with D cell batteries are not affected per the FAA guy. Most of the older CT's probably have the AK450? I've got this one installed in my 2006 CTSW. Anticept
I have an AK-450 in mine. I was really close to retrofitting a 451. This affects AK-450's as well. I had to replace mine in 2014. I know we have one in our piper warrior too... might end up having to yank it out too depending on how things go.
