Ed Cesnalis
Used to be you could use the field at Coyote Flats and practice take-offs, landings and T&Gs above 10,000'. In recent years the tarmac was removed but the strip remains, even more fun on dirt. When more people were flying a guy could make a hundred bucks once in a while by driving up to Coyote and loading the luggage and passengers into the truck and pointing them at Bishop while you flew their now much lighter Cessna or Piper down for them. People had a habit of landing there without the performance to take off.
