NC Bill
It's my registered AquaFix 406MHz Just checked and it needs a new battery. Locally they are $185 installed. Frankly I no longer fly where I need more than an ELT , so I'm not planning to replace it. If someone on the forum has a use for a PLB and is willing to replace the battery then it yours. Just PM me your address. Reimbursement for postage is optional.
Ed Cesnalis
I have one too. I bough a new unit rather than pay almost $200 for a battery.
FlyingMonkey
I wonder if an equivalent (e.g. cheaper) battery could be sourced and user installed...? My ACR is about 2 years old and the battery still tests good. How long do they typically last?
NC Bill
Mine lasted more than 6 years.
Ed Cesnalis
mine tests good at 10years There are user installs out there prolly on youtube but... The professional install includes testing at a variety of altitudes or pressures or something that drives the cost up.
