That too fast thing

We have been reminded that a taildragger can be safe at a a higher speed with the high angle of attack it can use in wheel landings.

Not safe from this too fast issue though.

It looked like there was more going on than just fast on landing, like maybe a stuck throttle, it certainly wasn't at idle. Another thing is after he initially touched, he didn't decrease the angle of attack to keep it on the ground.

I have been teaching my oldest to fly in my dad's Taylorcraft. After learning normal 3 point landings we started working on wheel landings. It is hard to get used to pushing the stick forward after having it drilled in your head to get it all the way back. Throw in knowing when the wheels are about to touch, and the timing of moving the stick forward, and it just adds to the complexity.

September 3rd, 2014 Tyabb Airshow in Australia.... supposedly an experienced pilot.......

A go-around would have cost him nothing but a little ribbing from his friends.
