Loose Throttle Control

Recommended Posts

Is there any way to tighten up the tension on the throttle control on a CTLSi?  It seems like ours keeps creeping up on the RPMs.  If I set it at 5,200 RPMS, within a few minutes it creeps up to 5,500 RPMS.  Maybe its the plane's way of telling me it wants to run at 5,500!

There's a bolt and nut that applies tension to the throttle control. Remove the panel that the throttle lever goes through and you should see them.

It does NOT take much to make it tight. Don't go cranking on it!

Ed, If you added a picture of your throttle with belleville washer(s), I'll go back and find your post.  If no pictures, please advise us if you added a washer to one side or both?  Thanks.

Dick, that was back during the first CT website.  Pretty sure 1 did the trick.  It has never slipped since.

Pitch trim wheel rides on bearings with spacers, tightening them won't do much for side to side play unless it's really loose. Just pop the panel off, you'll see what you need to tighten.

Now if you mean it's lose as in a lot of rolling play... that's a cable tension issue!
