Ben2k9 Report post Posted August 6, 2018 Anyone know where could I get replacement springs for the small sliding windows? Also is there some sort of lubricant that could be applied to help the windows slide a little better? I keep having to add a little air to one tire every few weeks. Would it be a bad idea to add a little green slime or something like that to seal up whatever is allowing air to escape?
Odowneyeng Report post Posted August 6, 2018 Try using CRC. Sorry no ideas on springs. Regarding tire, I would remove tube and put on a vulcanize patch https://www.amazon.com/CRC-Plastic-Multi-Purpose-Precision-Lubricant/dp/B0013J41KW
Roger Lee Report post Posted August 6, 2018 Look here. ttps://wingsandwheels.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=Windows+mecaplex I use a tad of silicone paste on the rails. This keeps the plastic from grinding itself down. makes them slide smoothly without any wear. I have been doing this for 11 years and has worked well. Do you know whether this would be safe to use sparingly?
Roger Lee Report post Posted August 6, 2018 Silicone paste will stay in place and not run off or dissipate. The paste is thicker so it has more staying power. WD40 and some other lubes may fog your window if over sprayed too often.
Ben2k9 Report post Posted August 6, 2018 Something like this? Super Lube 97008 Silicone Lubricating Brake Grease with PTFE, 8 oz Tube, Translucent White https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0081JEBFC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_HFmABb31AE8B4
Roger Lee Report post Posted August 7, 2018 I'm sure that would work. You can buy regular silicone paste at Ace Aviation. I use the same thing on the door locking pins. Keeps the pins and the fuselage from excessive wear and makes the door work much smoother.

I might as well grease any and all areas that would benefit from this stuff.
