CT4ME
If you've ever wanted to fly "South of the Border", there is a great organized adventure coming up in early March. We went a couple of years back, and will be going again this year. The Baja Bush Pilots have been organizing these trips for 12+ years (sometimes twice a year), and usually have 50-60 airplanes participate. Our trip in 2009 rates as the best flying adventure ever. Click here for info on the trip The cost is $450 per person, which covers hotel for 3 nights, Dinners and Breakfasts, some drinks, whale petting permits and tours, and some BBP merchandise. The BBP folks have info on all the requirements for flying South and, with 60 fellow pilots to question, you have plenty of help. Everybody meets up in Mulege, about 2/3 of the way down the Baja (gulf side). Flights are organized on Fri and Sat to go the the West Coast for the whale petting. Individuals arrange to buddy-up and fly down on their own, using the BBP forum as a way to hook up. We'll probably be heading down a day early from the Phoenix area, landing and spending Wed night in Alfonsinas. Landing in Alfonsinas: Tim

ozairangel
Incredible........Here in Australia one is not allowed to get nearer than 200mtrs to a whale by law. Next thing is knife inspectors making sure they are not to sharp.
CT4ME
Here's a Spot link for our Wed-Sun flight down the Baja. 35 planes meeting up in Mulege, then flying back/forth to the Pacific side for Whale watching. Will probably fly back Sunday morning by crossing the Gulf and up through North-Central Mexico to Tucson. Weather looks perfect... blue skies and 80 degrees.
