Skunkworks85
Just now, Buckaroo said: Great job for you but statistically a pilot that decides to turn back to the field after a power failure odds of a successful landing are very few! We always teach the 45° rule land 45° to the left or to the right never try to turn back to the field you’ve got a tail wind situation against you and stalls and spins etc it’s deadly! Have you ever tried this? I have many times to determine my decision point. I can easily make it back to midfield at or above 600 agl
KentWien
This is an interesting take of the ‘impossible turn.’
Skunkworks85
That is the video that got me to see what I'm comfortable with in my plane. My departure brief now includes that above 600 make a decision to turn around. Provided no obstructions, at which point it would be the chute
