Ben2k9
Can someone refresh my memory on what is the difference between the analog Hobbs counter and the Hobbs time that shows in the Dynon MFD screen? thanks ben
Tom Baker
The Dynon records anytime the engine is running. The analog records when the alternator is supplying power to the airplane. The difference you see between the two comes from the cumulative time from when the engine is started until the alternator switch is turned on. Or if you forget to turn on the alternator switch when doing your checklist.
Ben2k9
Thanks. I think I know someone who did that one time. It’s a lesson he won’t soon forget.
AGLyme
On my 2nd solo flight in the CT, I was running up and the Amp Meter was showing negative big time... I turned the engine off and pulled out the startup checklist, performing the broken computer routine, if in doubt, re-boot... realizing then that I forgot to push on the Generator switch. Felt stupid, and now I say the instructions out loud and I don't shortcut the checklist.
