Scissor Jack Main Tire Change?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Any reason not to use a scissor jack for a tire change? I found this on here

but wanted to make sure it was ok? I'm asking because it's a one man show and I don't have all the fancy equipment. For the front I would need two people I know.

Thanks everyone.

On my after market Matco wheels and brakes the axle extends far enough toward the middle of the plane ( beyond the axle housing )so that it is easy to lift the plane using a scissor jack. Been doing it for years. Works great.

To do the front wheel on tour own is easy. I use a 20l plastic drum filled with water tied to the tail strap to pull the tail down enough to lift the nose wheel.

It is quite stable quick and easy.
