Al Downs
How many hours is normal for engine removal, swap necessary parts to new engine and then install the new engine.
Warmi
I don't think there a set "normal" - a local school replaced at around 2500 or so not because the number but because the engine was giving more and more trouble. This guy (Sting Flight ) - https://www.facebook.com/Sting-Flight-334060526751303/ - is at 2700 and still going strong. Basically, it all depends - if the engine is good and not giving you any issues then why replace ?
Al Downs
I guess I didn't phrase it right. I am talking about the hours to swap an engine.

The guy that took 2500 hrs. was being paid by the hour and the guy still going at 2700 hrs is a heavy drinker.

Tom Baker
I would expect 25 to 30 hours. Almost like a hose change, but you may have to swap the baffle, which may require some disassembly of the new engine. You may run into other issues. I seem to remember someone saying that you have to cut a lug off the new starter.
