Animosity2k
All I can find in my POH is a demonstrated X-Wind component. Where can I find the max surface wind component? I was told I would need to be able to point it out in my upcoming checkride.
Garrett Gee
In the CTLS AOI, it is listed under section 2.6 - Other Limitations. "Flight Operations are not recommended during strong, gusty winds or wind speeds on the ground of more than 46 km/h (24kts-30 mph)." Hope that is what you are looking for. Animosity2k
So I looked through all of my books and I do not have an AOI. I have a maintenece binder, and the POH, and a binder with all of the equipment in the plane as it was built by the factory. Where could I get one of these? Animosity2k
I do fly a CTLS , so I should just print these and make a binder like my other books.
Animosity2k
Did they ever provide these in a book?
Tom Baker
With the CTLSi they changed the name from Airplane Operating Instructions to the standard POH. They do not have a link to the manual for the CTLSi, and I have not looked at one to see if the speed is still included. Yes a paper copy of all the manuals should have been delivered with the airplane when it was new. Tom BTW, it is okay to have a personal minimum of say 20 knots, and it doesn't need to be in the manual. Sometimes the examiners are looking to know that you know the legal limitations, aircraft limitations, and personal limitation that show good judgement. The POH only shows X-Wind demonstrated and no max wind or gusts. I downloaded a copy of the airplane owners manual and made a seperate binder with it. Anticept
Max demonstrated is fine for your exam. Aircraft don't need to have an actual crosswind limitation, they just need to have some kind of testing and information for the pilot. okent
Dumb question: Is the original AOI/POH the only book that is considered correct to have in the aircraft? The only reason I ask is because I haven't seen any mechanism to update or add revisions to the AOI/POH. It would make sense to have the most current document as long as the model is the same. That way if the original is lost/destroyed, one could download the most current and then add in the equipment list and W&B.
