Let’s talk pre-heating

I plugged one duct into the small round hole that ducts air over the cylinders, and the other was stuck in the oil door. It looked rather crude, but worked well. I did have to replace the heater once because an element burnt out. 

Have a photo of the air duct your referring to? Is it the round one to the left of the light?

I use a hot water heater blanket cut to fit around cowl and velcro to hold it together and a 60 watt

light bulb  stuck in the oil door keeps the whole engine very  warm in winter.

I guess a light bulb turned on inside the oil door would make me nervous all winter.

lol. My temp yesterday on startup in my non heated hangar was 55* not to bad w/ no heat or any preheating. Took 5min to get to 120.
