Frayed wire perhaps.  Try taking the Dynon unit out of the panel, look for any wires that go from that Dynon to the engine compartment.  Review where the wire bundle sits in relation to the firewall.  Determine if any of the wires are unprotected by silicone tape, etc... and if any wires are scraping against the hole in the firewall.

Yup Dynon has been great in getting my D100 repaired (twice over its lifespan-  2nd time was free of charge) It is a old unit.   It would take longer and longer for the unit to powerup and display.   From a few seconds initially to taking over 30minutes!!  I don't know what they did to repair it but thus far its still good.
