Al Downs
When starting up the plane the Dynon went black. It was working fine after the last flight 30 minutes prior. Tried restarting the plane and cycling the circuit breaker but know luck. Any ideas of what to look for?
AGLyme
Frayed wire perhaps. Try taking the Dynon unit out of the panel, look for any wires that go from that Dynon to the engine compartment. Review where the wire bundle sits in relation to the firewall. Determine if any of the wires are unprotected by silicone tape, etc... and if any wires are scraping against the hole in the firewall. Tom Baker
Most likely the unit itself has failed. You could try posting on Dynon's forum, or give them a call Monday. Oh, and a heads up if you have to send it in or get a replacement you will need to make sure the firmware on the D100 matches the D120. If they don't they wont talk to each other. cdarza
Yup Dynon has been great in getting my D100 repaired (twice over its lifespan- 2nd time was free of charge) It is a old unit. It would take longer and longer for the unit to powerup and display. From a few seconds initially to taking over 30minutes!! I don't know what they did to repair it but thus far its still good. Anticept
The screens have a florescent backlight and unfortunately, the circuitry driving them is probably failing.
