NC Bill
Appreciate if someone would refer me to instructions on how to remove and replace the wings on a CTLS. Also is it now a 2 or 3 year inspection interval?
Al Downs
It is pretty easy. Remove the pin on each side and detach the fuel line and control connection in the root end. The most important thing to do is to support BOTH wingtips. If you don't support the wingtips the end of the spar will go thru the roof and cause great damage. Using a ladder under each wingtip does a good job. Also use a helper or two. Overall it is a simple job but must be done carefully.
Tip
I have pulled wings by myself using one of these with some padding under each wing. Make sure that you support each flap as they come out of their sockets.
Tom Baker
Beyond what Al said. Drain the fuel!!! 2 year inspection. Plan on replacing the fuel sight tubes. On the CTLS working the fuel lines out and back in can sometimes be a hassle. You might also want to blow into the vent lines to clear the fuel, otherwise it might spill fuel on you or the airplane as you start to move the wings out. Use your mouth and a tube. Do not use compressed air! When reinstalling lube as directed by the MM. You will have to disconnect the nav light wires and remote compass. Take measures so the wires don't fall into the airplane. When reinstalling the wings make sure you don't have any wires pinched, otherwise you may not be able to get the pins back in place. I use a piece of duct tape on each aileron and 2 on each flap to keep them from falling. Also while they are off is a good time to remove the small inspection plug from the flap well and lube the aileron push tube rollers inside the wing. Not an easy job to do, but easier when the wing is off the airplane. You will need to un-tape the flap to let it hang down for better access. MileHighCTLS
What would be really nice, is if someone ever did an instructional video on removing the replacing the wings!

Not exactly what you are asking for, but here is a video. I do the removal and re-installation with 1 helper. I also see some no nos on the video, like resting the wing on your head. The video is at the top of the page.
