Anticept Posted July 13, 2021 Report Share Posted July 13, 2021 Finished an inspection on a 2012 CTLS. Oil is leaking from the water pump witness hole. Cleaned the area and was in the middle of doing the 5 minute run test, and we didn't even get it warmed up before more oil started dripping. His son Jeremiah, aerospace engineer, is working with him now as well and almost finished getting his A&P. I've seen planes come in from all over North America. Anticept Posted July 26, 2021 Author Report Share Posted July 26, 2021 We cleaned up the engine a second time and repeated the test before work began. Bone dry this time. It technically passes the test but I told them keep a close eye on it. I refreshed my memory with videos and the manual; even if the seal gave, there's not much chance for oil to puke, the shaft and gearset fit snugly. So i signed it off.
