GrassStripFlyBoy
I was messaged for info on tire jack referenced in the recent thread of "things I wish I knew...", here's picture of my jack. I used the dimensions from the earlier thread on jacks, (which I didn't readily find to link here), can provide dimensions if any wants. The round bar slips into hollow back side of axle, lift wing (apply force on spar), jack pivots upright, set back down. Remove in reverse order if someone can snag it, or just pull the plane forward and flip it off center...

Tom Baker
Darrell, do you have the original Marc brakes? I don't think it will work with the Matco conversion.
GrassStripFlyBoy
Tom - Yes Marc, good point - requires an axle with hollow opening on the back side.
Tom Baker
Yes, the Matco brakes have a solid axle adapter, so a different arrangement is needed for them.
Roger Lee
You can use a 6' padded ladder too. Just to the inside area of the tie down ring. Nice and beefy there. Cross bracing there. No reason to make things hard. It's worked since 2005.

sandpiper
I have Matco. The axle sticks out the back about 2.5" and is hollow to a depth about 3". I converted to Matco Sept. 2009. Maybe the earlier conversions were different?

airhound
My 13 LS, with Matco’s has axle holes flush with inside of gear legs. Im guessing a punch or a awl can be stuck in there for a jack pad. If this handy lightweight device works on that configuration, then anybody fabricating them yet? Tom Baker
That is certainly different than the ones I have installed on SW's. The ones I installed were like this.
Roger Lee
Some of the earlier installs had longer axles. Be careful not to bend or even slightly tweak it or it isn't ever coming out.
