Bill3558
I took the 2 day irmt class at Lockwood. Does this allow me to exchange propellers? I’m having trouble finding the answer. I have the new E-prop but can’t find an A&P that wants or has the time to mess with it.
Madhatter
You would have to recalculate weight and balance as well as assemble and adjust the prop blades. I doubt you could be legal to do it but I could be wrong. Unfortunately a lot of A&P's might find this a challenge these days from what I have seen lately, it's a sad situation. Tom Baker
If your airplane is a SLSA, the prop swap can be done by a repair station, LSRM, A&P, or a person under the direct supervision of an A&P if the A&P has performed the work before. If it is an ELSA, then you can do it without those credentials. While the IRMT training is useful for knowledge, it doesn't really give you any legal authority to perform any maintenance.
