identify the antennas

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Transpondeur antenna is generally very short with a ball at the end or looking like a shark fin https://www.aircraftspruce.com/categories/avionics_instruments/av/menus/av/antenna_transponder.html
Radio antenna is much longer with an angle or not https://www.aircraftspruce.com/categories/avionics_instruments/av/menus/av/antenna_com.html

Good day.

Comm antennas can come in many styles, but are usually whip type but sometimes are long shark fin type.

Short shark fins are typically transponders and ADS-B.

Semi-round button looking things are usually GPS.

ELTs are usually whip, or stick and ball type. If it's a 406 ELT it will be on top, the old 121.5s are on the belly, usually.
